SYMBOLS, OBSTACLES, HAZARDS:

Tee BoxTee box: Start here on each hole. When shooting from the Tee Box black dice can be re-rolled with the other non-scoring dice.

Fairway golf ballFairway: Good lie. When shooting from the Fairway, black dice cannot be re-rolled.

bunkerBunker (Sand trap): When shooting from a Bunker, black and purple dice cannot be re-rolled or counted.

roughRough: When shooting from the Rough, one space must be deducted from the final roll, i.e. a roll of four is reduced to three.

waterWater: When a shot lands in the Water, one penalty stroke is assessed and the player must move back one space to dry land.

treeTree: When a Tree is in the path of a shot, the player must take a Tree Test to determine if the shot cleared the tree. Take one die, roll it once, if it comes up anything other than black, continue to move the total number of spaces allowed by the original roll. If black, then the shot stops at the tree. When shooting from a Tree, one space must be subtracted from the final roll, i.e. a roll of four is reduced to three.

putting green symbolGreen: Once safely on the green, advance to the Putting Surface. The player's next turn will be to putt the ball into the cup. If a player lands a shot exactly on the green without using any gems, wilds or Arrows, it is a "natural" backspin. That player is entitled to a FREE backspin attempt as described for a yellow gem.

Arrow symbol for hill or bounceArrow/Hill/Bounce: When a shot lands on an Arrow you MUST follow the Arrow’s direction and move to the next space. You must land on an Arrow to go in that direction.

Blue star symbol for great shotStar: Great Shot. When a shot lands on a Star from the Tee Box, one gem is rewarded. When shooting from the Star black dice can be re-rolled with the other non-scoring dice.

Putting surface symbolPutting Surface: (Enlargement of the green) Start putting from here (unless you advanced further with a backspin). The object is to get the ball into the cup. If within one space of the cup, consider it a tap-in and add one stroke to your score.

Flag on Putting SurfaceFlag on Putting Surface: That's the cup... the goal to end the hole. Once all players have ‘sunk their putt’, each player tallies the number of turns it took them to complete the hole. Take the appropriate number of gems.

Know where you lie!

Each Golf Ball, Arrow, Star, and the Flag on the Putting Surface counts as one space.

Golf Ball:  This is one of several spaces you move onto as you play each hole.  A Golf Ball may appear in a Fairway, Bunker, Tree, Rough, Green or in the Water.

Directional Dots:  These little dots indicate your direction of play.

Fairway:  The Fairway is the lighter green “main road” from theTee Box to the hole.  You may land on various spaces on the Fairway.

Par:  The average number of strokes it takes to complete a hole.  Each playing board has a par number shown in the upper left-hand corner.

Divot:  A divot is a chunk of turf ripped up from the Fairway by a golf club when making a shot.

Choose the right club

Choosing the right number of dice to throw can make a big difference as to whether you need to play a gem or not. Although the roll of the dice is considered luck...there is strategy involved to make sure you don't overshoot the green or the cup. Also, look at the space that your turn is starting from.

Enhance the roll of your dice

Play a gem if you can and want to...but remember, the player with the most gems at the end of the game wins...so spend them wisely.
