Box of Golf

This golf game is a cousin of Yahtzee, set on a golf course and stored in a gorgeous wood box.

Players choose their club by selecting 1 to 5 dice and rolling them. The dice have six colors each; the object is to accumulate as large a group of of the same color dice as the number of spaces you wish to move. After rolling the dice once, players can re-roll some of the dice one or two times in an attempt to improve the result.

Among the challenges players will face are trees, the rough, bunkers, and water. Players earn glass gems for various successful shots; these gems are then used to overcome hazards or to affect your opponents' play. Real golf tees are used to mark players' positions on the course.

The game seems to have good mechanisms, and the complete rules are available at the Box of Golf web site so you can read through them before deciding whether to purchase the game.
